Since the mid 1970s, the Park Avenue neighborhood has enjoyed a cultural and artistic renaissance, making this area one of the most popular urban areas for Rochester natives and visiting students alike. A drive down Park Avenue, or better yet a walk, reveals a busy retail corridor filled with restaurants, boutiques, salons, and many other services. Dog walking, bike riding, roller blading, and people mingling, are routine, year around activities. Much of the neighborhood is part of a designated historical preservation district encompassing museums and historic homes.
